In 2007, the flu virus hit California's Atascadero State Hospital. That was when Dr. John Cannell, Executive Director of the Vitamin D Council - discovered something amazing…

"I know my patients had been exposed to influenza, but none of them got sick.”

Why? Because Cannell's patients (30) were given vitamin D on a regular basis.

Oliver Gillie, a freelance medical researcher and writer, says:

”It's the great cancer cover-up. Panicked into avoiding sunlight by health experts, we are now dying in our thousands from diseases linked to deficiencies of vitamin D. But still the exaggerated warnings come.”

Dr. William Grant, one of the nation’s leading authorities on vitamin D, says:

”The health benefits of vitamin D and UVB include reduced risk for fractures, cancer, infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases, congestive heart failure, periodontal disease, etc. The scientific consensus is that about 4,000 International Units (IU) of vitamin D3/day are required for optimal health.”

“About 30 percent of cancer deaths -- which amounts to 2 million worldwide and 200,000 in the United States -- could be prevented each year with higher levels of vitamin D.”

A Healthy Range for Vitamin D is 45-55 ng/ml.

In 2004, Dr. Amy E. Millen and colleagues reported:

“The global epidemic of melanoma is also linked to increased travel to sunny locations and use of sunscreen that blocks UVB more effectively than UVA.”

Most sunscreen companies provide products that block the ultraviolet-B, or UVB, from the sun. The problem is that UVB are the very rays needed to produce vitamin D in the skin.

Statistics show skin cancer rates and deaths have actually risen since the sunscreen campaigns began thirty years ago. Ultimately, each individual must make an informed decision after careful review of all the facts.

Additional Benefits of Vitamin D

Bill Sardi, a medical researcher, has discovered that:

  • Vitamin D activates your immune system by forming little peptides, which kill bacteria and viruses - without antibiotic resistance and without side effects.
  • Vitamin D will not only help fight osteoporosis, but strengthen teeth as well.
  • Vitamin D can be used instead of fluoride to harden our teeth so there's no soft spots where the acids can eat into our teeth and cause dental decay.

German scientific literature shows that vitamin D can boost athletic performance by improving reaction time, balance, muscle strength and endurance. This would explain why senior citizens taking vitamin D are less likely to fall and hurt themselves.

For over 10 Years, the government refuses to look at the science while it continues to only recommend 200 - 600 IU of vitamin D per day. (depending on your age)

Dr. Cannell says it best:

"Here, the Lord is saying there's a system that makes this much vitamin D this quickly -- thousands of units a day from sun exposure. And here's the government over here saying you only need a couple of hundred units a day. So you can sort of ask yourself, 'Who do you want to believe -- God or the government?'"
