Vegetarian Nutrition
A Healthy Lifestyle Choice

Vegetarian Nutrition provides an effective and enjoyable way to improve the quality of your life. Switching to a vegetarian diet is easier than you might think. A vegetarian meal can be as familiar as pasta with marinara, lentil soup or as exotic as Grilled Polenta with portabella mushrooms.

Changing Your Body is remarkably easy on a vegetarian diet due to its many nutrient dense, low calorie food options.

Research shows that vegetarians have little risk for heart disease compared to meat eaters along with a lower risk for hypertension and other degenerative diseases.

Diabetics can easily lower and control their blood sugar levels on a vegetarian diet high in complex carbohydrates and fiber plus low in fat.

Cancer Prevention! Many studies have shown that vegetarians are half to two-thirds less likely to die of cancer. Breast cancer is dramatically lower in populations around the world that focus on a plant-based diet.

Listen to the Experts

The British Medical Association says:

"Research shows that people following a plant-based diet suffer less from many of the diseases linked to a modern western diet, such as, obesity, coronary heart disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, diet-related cancers, constipation and gall stones."

The American Dietetic Association says:

"That a well-planned, plant-based diet is healthy, nutritionally adequate and provides health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases."

The World Cancer Research Fund in association with the American Institute for Cancer Research, in 1997, published the most comprehensive world-wide review of diet and cancer research, presenting dietary guidelines for prevention, public policy recommendations and a thorough review of the scientific evidence.

Look at the Results...

  • An increase in animal fat consumption may increase the risk of lung, colon, rectum, breast and prostate cancers
  • Diets high in milk and dairy products may increase the risk of prostate and kidney cancer
  • Protein of plant origin from cereals is a good source of protein

The typical Western-style diet was condemned with these words:

‘within the last 50 years, the trend has been to invest in the very resource-intensive rearing of animals. The consumption of fatty meats and dairy products has been promoted with the incorrect message that such foods are especially healthy. Increasing consumption of meat and fatty foods will lead to a massive increase in the incidence of a large number of diseases that are expensive to treat. Traditional (plant-based) diets, when adequate and varied, are likely to be generally healthier.’

And finally, Cornell University's nutritional biochemist Dr. T. Colin Campbell, director of the renowned "China Study" (a long-term study of the relationship between diet and health) says:

"The vast majority, perhaps 80 to 90 percent, of all cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and other forms of degenerative illness can be prevented, at least until very old age, simply by adopting a plant-based diet."
